    More Than Enough

    in DAY 4

I'm often tempted to just be a good penitent servant to the one who spared my life. That's not really a bad thing to be. Most people are that way. We want to live "good enough." We want to do enough to not be a bad dad, or a bad worker, or a bad friend, or a bad human. When we die we want people to say, "He was a good man." That'd be nice. It would be enough. But God isn't satisfied with good enough. We weren't invited into the kingdom of heaven because God needed citizens. We were invited because God was looking for family.

Is it easier to relate to God as your debtor or as your Father? Why is that? Where'd you learn to think of Him in this way?

What do you think we miss out on when we live as merely citizens and fail to live as family?

I've been searching through the Bible to see if God ever commanded someone to complete a task alone. It seems like His design was always community driven.
